ALEIX ESPARGARÓ’S PODIUM IN THE AUSTRIAN GP SPRINT CONSOLIDATES APRILIA’S SECOND PLACE IN THE MOTOGP CONSTRUCTORS’ CHAMPIONSHIP

The Austrian Grand Prix weekend concluded with a bittersweet outcome, marked by excellent performances and some setbacks. In MotoGP, the Aprilia team showed signs of steady growth, with Maverick Viñales improving his performance from Friday’s practice to Sunday’s race pace, and Aleix Espargaró securing a well-deserved podium in Saturday’s Sprint, confirming the good work done by the team.

#41 ALEIX ESPARGARÒ

P9 (P3 SPRINT)

“From the start of the race, I had complications with braking. Being in the middle of the pack, the temperature increased and consequently impacted braking efficiency; it’s something we need to work on. We were expecting a complicated weekend, but we were still competitive. We’re taking home a fourth spot on the grid, a podium in the sprint race, and some important points in the long race.”

#12 MAVERICK VIÑALES

P7 (P11 SPRINT)

“It was a defensive race. I tried to get as much as possible. On this circuit, in particular, I struggle with braking. It was difficult to stop the bike. To be honest, I think it’s a good result and I still earned important points. There are some areas where the bike was very strong, and we know there are things we need to improve, like braking.”
